Settling Down and Settling In (Maybe)

We have decided to do some adulting life for a while and we are renting a home in Vero Beach, Florida.

Our move-in date was 1 April 2024. Since moving in we have struggled with all the space we have. Rob has lost me several times 😁🤣😂.  We have a huge (to us) three bedroom, two bath home with a garage, walk-in closet and a beautiful lanai complete with inground pool covered by a Florida room. And to top it off, Rob doesn't have to do much -- we have a landscaper and pool guy.

Our storage unit was completely emptied in one trip, thanks to Zach (our nephew) hooking us up with a rental van. I have successfully hidden (which means put away) all of our "stuff" from Rob. And right when he knows where things are, I rearrange. hehehe

Half full or half empty
Everything's out

Wow! Can't believe we have
all this "stuff" and most of
it was on our boat.

We visited several of the local gyms. Our plan is to try to keep our girlish figures now that we are homebodies.

Planet Fitness - disturbing

We have also done some necessary normal adult type things such as ordering from Amazon, doctor visits, DMV, library, etc.

In the short time that we have been here, I think I have taken Rob to every Farmer's Market in the area. Along with an Art Expo and Boat Show.

We attended a Duran Duran / David Bowie Tribute Band Concert at Summer Crush Vineyard & Winery. The band was pretty good but the lead singer's wife was a "Karen" and that is being nice.

Yes, I really forgot
my shoes

"Karen" constantly
blocking our view.

Fort Pierce Oyster Festival - we did not partake in Oysters but did listen to some music.

We had visitors! Best part of having a big house 🏠.

Our Landlords also known as Brenda and Florian (sister & brother in-law) were our first visitors.

Tony and Michelle

Derek and Dianne

We went to Riverside Theater for Comedy Night with Florian and Brenda. Comedians were not very good.

Double C Bar Ranch  - Me, Florian, Brenda, Brianna and all 3 boys went and picked fresh blueberries 🫐 without Rob.

I have my bucket 🪣

Walking Tree Brewery for some friendly corn hole and an ale.

We visited the National Navy Seal Museum with Tony and Michelle. The Museum resides on the training grounds of the original Navy combat divers, the Frogmen.

Isis Flag - The flag is displayed
upside down to show disrespect

The Trident

Rob and I tried parts of the obstacle course that is modeled after the one in Coronado and all BUDS candidates are required to master. We did not plan accordingly. It's not a smart idea to try in flip flops, barefooted or in my case, a dress 👗.

I got this

How do I get down

Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, Veterans Memorial Island Sanctuary, FAU Harbor Branch Ocean Discovery Visitors Center, a stop at the Beach, and drinks at Little Jim's with Derek and Dianne.

The refuge was designated by President Roosevelt in 1903 as the first Wildlife Refuge in the US.

Veterans Memorial Island Sanctuary - a nice memorial!

Don't worry... this is not the end of our wandering. We have not completely grown up yet and have several trips already in the works, so stay tuned.

According to little Ms. Google in April we traveled a little over 1000 miles by walking and driving, which most was driving.

We must really be settling in because According to little Ms. Google in May we only traveled 600 miles by walking, driving, ferry, and in a taxi 🚕.
