Cefalù is a small coastal town located on the northern coast of Sicily, it is a popular tourist destination for its beautiful beaches, charming historic center, and medieval architecture.
The Cathedral of Cefalù - One of the most iconic landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a Norman-style cathedral built in the 12th century and features intricate mosaics and an impressive bell tower. It was undergoing renovation when we were there so much was closed off. What wasn't closed off was very impressive!

La Rocca - If you're up for a bit of a hike (and we were!), La Rocca is a must. This rocky hill towers above the town and offers panoramic views of the coast and surrounding countryside.

The Beaches - Cefalù is known for its beautiful beaches. The main beach, known as Spiaggia di Cefalù, is located just a short walk from the town center and offers crystal-clear water and soft sand. There are also several smaller beaches in the area, including the secluded Caldura Beach. It was too cold for us to swim but it felt good to lounge in the sand and sun.
Postierla - is a small gate located in an inconspicuous part of the wall, used in the past to leave the city without attracting attention. In Spanish it is called postern. It opens up facing the sea between the remains of the Megalithic Wall (5th and 4th centuries BC) and its origins are very ancient.

Where did we stay? "Wonderful Italy Sicilia", AirBnB. We had about a 15 minutes walk from the parking lot but it was well worth it. Very steep narrow stairs but well worth the view of the street below. It was comfortable and perfect.
Sharon really liked all the doors/windows in the apartment the bedroom door and balcony doors also matched.

How did we get here? Drove from Trapani with a stop in Erice. Erice, located at 751 meters above sea level, seems to have been founded by the Elymians, a people probably coming from Greece and settling in western Sicily around the eighth century. It was a cool town would have liked to seen more. Once arriving in Cefalu we parked just outside Old Town.

Pastries galore at Bar Duomo, Sharon could eat here everyday. We did also get lunch here.
Pizzica was a tiny little shop only 3 people fit into so they had a line, it was good.
Gelato was everywhere but we chose Squagghio.

Sharon found a recommendation on Facebook for Ristorante La Brace and it did not disappoint. We tried to go the night before without a reservation and they were fully booked, so we made a reservation for the next night. The service was excellent and food was phenomenal and the prices were great. Everything was so good we tried to make another reservation and they were already fully booked.

We were not sure where to go for dinner so we happened to come across Badia Restaurant & Drink right around the corner from our room. They were still setting up the tables but said go ahead and have a seat. They brought us out Presecco while we waited. The service was great and the food was delicious and we had a nice view of the Cathedral.
