Southampton -- a city located on the south coast of England that is rich maritime heritage. Southampton was where the ill-fated RMS Titanic embarked on its tragic maiden voyage. The Mayflower also sailed from this port.

There were plenty of restaurants and bars right in our area and someone definitely had a good time. We found this outside our front door one morning. No one came back and claimed them while we were there.
Where did we eat?
We found the The Standing Order based on a comment on Facebook and this place was great! Enjoyed by both tourists and locals. You had to order drinks and food at the bar and they delivered the food to your table. The food was great, atmosphere was fun and prices best we've seen since arriving in the UK. Your meal even comes with a drink regardless of what you are drinking.

How did we get here? Took the train from Broadstairs to Southampton via London where we had to change trains. It took about four hours and was a nice train ride.
Where did we stay? The Hideaway. This was not an AirBnB and was located in the basement directly underneath a hair salon. It was a tad noisy between 9-5 but otherwise fine for a few nights.
When did we visit? July 6 through 9, 2023
Southampton is a dynamic city. I think my favorite thing was The Standing Order pub! You couldn't beat the prices and atmosphere and the food was pretty good too!
