Wanderers : Friends and Warm Weather

Key West and warm weather here we come! We were supposed to fly out of Albany, NY Monday, 29 December. Unfortunately, due to weather, our flight was delayed to Charlotte which meant we would have missed our connecting flight to Key West. Rob was able to get us a flight that departed at 5:00am the next morning. Yes, 5:00am!!! But that meant we would arrive in Key West around noon so it ended well.

Tony was really nice and picked us up at the airport, which we really appreciated.

We stayed at the La Concha Key West, Autograph Collection. The hotel was recently renovated and Rob had always wanted to stay here.

Our plan was to go to Schooners Wharf to watch the Wench drop from the mast, but we walked to Sloppy Joe's to get a picture of the Conch Shell lit up and never left.

It was crazy. We haven't done something this crazy since our Baltimore New Year's days.

We were out for a walk and we found where they positioned a replica of the Southern Most Point Bouy, which we think is a better location. The bouy was relocated due to the sea wall needing to be replaced.

We heard many great things about Lola's Bistro Key West. It was a new restaurant for us and we were thrilled to have gotten a reservation.

We didn't feel this was very
creative or went well
together.

It is BYOB which was great and we did know ahead of time. We will probably give it another try but not until we try other restaurants.

Onlywood Grill we like the Caroline Street location. We chose not to order off the happy hour menu and chose a whole Pizza.

Two Friends has become one of our favorite places. They have a pretty decent happy hour and I'll let you in on a little secret 🙊😉. If you purchase a Two Friends cup you can get a refill for only $6 of any drink on their menu at anytime. You are welcome!

Bloody Mary

You never know who you will run into. A friend had a 'do you know' question about football and we were trying to find the answer. We texted our kids to ask if they knew the answer and they did not. So I asked the guy next to me, "Do you know anything about football?" and he shrugs and says, "Yeah a little".
