Can Tho is a city in southern Vietnam’s Mekong Delta region. Set on the southern bank of the Hau River, it’s known for its canal network and nearby floating markets.
How did we get here? We had two choices. A ferry back to Ha Tien followed by a six hour bus ride for a total of 7 1/2 hours travel time plus taxis to and from the bus terminal or fly. We chose the 50 minute flight on Bamboo Airways. We have gotten very spoiled with business class and paid the extra for the upgrade which wasn't that much. We save when we can and splurge when we want. We were escorted from the check-in counter to the business class security line. Immediately after security was the Bamboo Lounge with food and drink. We started to leave 30 minutes before our departure time and the receptionist said, "Sir-madame. Your flight is not boarding yet. Please sit and I will let you know when they start boarding." Wow!
Where did we stay? At TTC Hospitality Hotel with a river view room complete with balcony. The uber king-size bed was actually double beds pushed together. We could both sleep in the classic X formation and never touch each other.

What did we do? Walked around. The one thing to do is the floating market. It starts at 0500 and is a morning event. I just didn't see the point to getting up at O-dark thirty to take a boat ride through boats selling fruits and vegetables. We have honestly been to plenty of markets! Plus the floating market isn't what it used to be now that a bridge spans the river and trucks move the fruits and vegetables.
