Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and a busy city with lots of tourists. In English, we call the capital of Portugal "Lisbon". In Portuguese, it's "Lisboa".
What did we do? As you can imagine, we did not do any of the touristy things. Sharon created a walking tour and we did several death marches around the city.
São Pedro de Alcântara Viewpoint is one of the best with superb views from the Barrio Alto district.
O Cauteleiro is a tribute to local lottery ticket sellers. Visitors like to rub the ticket for good luck.
Rossio Square has been a main square since the medieval ages and has been the site for public revolts, celebrations, bullfights and executions over centuries.
Lisbon Cathedral is the oldest church in the city built in 1147.
Santa Luzia Viewpoint is one of the most famous viewpoints over Lisbon.
Saint George's Castle we walked to the Castle but did not go in. The queue (line) was very long and we've seen our share of castles over the last seven plus months.
Commerce Square and Tagus River Viewpoint - Pier 1929
Santa Justa Lift is a 19th century industrial-era lift used to transport tourists up 45 meters.
Time Out Market Lisbon was the first market in the world where everything has been chosen, tasted and tested by an independent panel of city experts: Time Out’s own journalists and critics. And locals and tourists alike have voted it a huge hit – it’s now among Portugal’s most visited attractions.
Dom Luis Garden
Pink Street was the Red Light district of Lisbon. Home of brothels, shady bars, gambling houses, and dodgy places.
Trams and Trolleys
Quiosque Príncipe Real a small beer \ wine kiosk and a great place to people watch.
What \ where did we eat?
Time Out Market -- the market was packed at lunch time but we found two seats and didn't have to wait too long for our food. We got Thai food. Not nearly as good as Thailand but it was good. We thought it was little pricey. It is a tourist attraction!

Jungle Curry with Rice |
Codfish Cakes a small little eatery across from Santa Luzia Viewpoint.
Coyo Taco - Príncipe Real a Mexican restaurant about 10 doors down from our AirBnb. Remember... we already did our death march for the day. The food and service was good.

On our last morning, being the loving husband that I am, I got up super early 🙃 😅 and went to the local padaria, A Padaria Portuguesa, to pick up pastries.
Where did we stay? AirBnB -- Libest Principe Real 4. It had parking but was quite the challenge to find when they don't give you the correct address. The apartment was nice and spacious.
When did we go? 10 - 13 October 2023
How did we get here? Drove from Sao Martinho do Porto to Lisbon (about 70 miles).
