Wanderers : Belize

Placencia is a small village located on the southern tip of the Placencia Peninsula in southeastern Belize.

What did we do?

Beach

The resort had bikes so we went for a very short Bike Ride.

What did we eat (all inclusive). The restaurant had a menu that didn't change and they offered a nightly special. The food and the service was really good.

How did we get there?

We contacted the taxi driver who took us from the ferry dock to the hotel. He promptly picked us up at noon. It took us a whole 3 minutes to drive there. I know we could have walked, but between the pot holes and the puddles, my suitcase would not have survived. It was just easier.

It took us just as long 😁😅🤣😂 to check in as it did to get to the airport. Actually, it was more of an airstrip than airport with only one 'gate'. We spent more time waiting for the plane than anything else.

About 40 minutes before take-off, one of the guys behind the counter was on the phone telling someone they had 10 minutes to get to the airport to check-in. He seemed a bit frantic. Finally, three people walk in the door at the same time our plane was landing. One of the women says "Geez I thought we were on island time, go slow." Who shows up for a flight five minutes before takeoff????

There is no assigned seating. The kid who walked us to the plane tells you where to sit. Heaviest were first. It's all about weight and balance. We finally take off!

We land in Belize City just to get our lugage and head to the next flight.

We landed in Dangriga long enough for one person to get out and we immediately took off again. Rob did not tell me we would take off and land three times.
