Sri Lanka - Hikkaduwa

Hikkaduwa is a beach resort town about two hours south of Colombo on the west coast. We stayed south of the town and really enjoyed the layed back vibe.

What did we do? Walked the beach, hung at the pool and beach and just enjoyed having a room/balcony right on the ocean. We went into town and lasted about an hour before retreating back to our oasis. I wanted to get a massage and Sharon wasn't in the mood but told me to walk across the street to the Spa. As I was tossing around going alone (I kind of felt like some creepy old 'sexpat'), Sharon read a review about the place. Someone commented about them offering a, "touch and shake". We have no idea what that is but it was enough that I was not allowed to find out. lol

Where did we stay? At Ease Beach Hotel. We loved it here! Pretty sure that staff worked about 24/7 and were so nice and attentive. We originally had a 'garden view' room but for $10 more per night got an ocean view. Oh yeah! There was a nice pool, bar and restaurant. 

Where did we eat?

Two Brother's Palace. We enjoyed the food and company here so we decided to go back on Saturday Night but they were closed. Who thought a restuarant would be closed on a Saturday?

A2 Restaurant -- the server talked us into the A2 Special SeaFood Platter. He told us it should be enough for two but we could get the larger platter for double the price. We chose the smaller portion and it was definitely plenty for the two of us. The platter was served with a salad and chips. All for a whopping 7500 LKR ($22).

How did we get here? We used Efficient Airport Taxi and had the same driver from our ride from the airport to our hotel in Colombo. That was quite the coincidence.

We really enjoyed Hikkaduwa. Another town with fun name.
