Wanderers : November 2023

València is the third largest city in Spain and is located on the Mediterranean coast. We really enjoyed this city and would love to come back! More so than Seville and Barcelona.

Valencia Cathedral is a beautiful Gothic cathedral that was built in the 13th century. It is home to the Holy Grail, which is said to be the cup that Jesus used at the Last Supper.

The Silk Exchange is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most beautiful buildings in València. It was built in the 15th century and was used as a silk exchange.

Turia Gardens a long park that is located on the former bed of the Turia River. It is a great place to walk, bike, or run.

Indulge in Valencia’s Culinary Delights Valencia is the birthplace of the famous dish of Paella.

Central Market where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of this market, where locals and tourists mingle among stalls offering fresh produce, meats, seafood, and other culinary delights.

Where did we eat?

In the reviews of our AirBnB, one of the previous guests had said the host recommended Restaurante Canela for the best paella. We figured we should try. When first arriving, the host seemed annoyed because we did not have a reservation... but they showed us to a table with only one chair. Sharon had to get her own. Once our waitress arrived things got much better.

Café Infanta was right down the street. We walked up and were able to snag two seats right under a heat lamp. Service and food was very good. This was our favorite!

For our very 'romantic' Anniversary dinner we chose Babalu Mediterraneo & Caribeño. We chose not to sit outside as it was too chilly for us. Inside was not much better and the music was extremely loud. We couldn't even have a conversation. Food was good but not great.

Where did we stay? Valencia Old Town City Centre AirBnB hosted by Antonio. It was a tiny 1 bedroom apartment with a balcony and private parking. Antonio kindly left us a bottle of wine, croissants, milk & coffee, so much more than most hosts.
