France 🇫🇷 - Bordeaux Uncorked: France’s Wine Capital 🍷

Nestled along the Garonne River, this UNESCO-listed city seduces travelers with its neoclassical architecture, world-class wine, and a culinary scene that rivals Paris in finesse and flavor. 🍇 You can’t talk Bordeaux without talking wine. The city is the gateway to over 60 appellations and 7,000 châteaus.

What did we do?

Cathédrale Saint-André de Bordeaux

Chateau du Tailan
wine tour,
a family estate since 1896. Currently owned by five sisters. The vineyard  consists of 100 hecters, the oldest vines are from 1959. Our group consisted of about 15 people.

Oldest part of the building documented
from the 16th century but they believe
it dates back to the 11th or 12th century
built by monks.

We discovered there is so much to learn about wine.

We did not time our wine tour appropriately. We caught the remnants of the Farmers Market and it looked to be a nice size with food and drinks to purchase and enjoy in the afternoon. I did not take many pictures as they were closing down as we walked through.

Grosse Cloche - one of the gateways when it was a walled city.

Jardin public

Miroir d'eau one of the world's largest reflection pool.

When did we visit? 10 - 14 September 2025

We loved Bordeaux and could have spent more time here. It seemed like every time we turned a corner we were 'wowed' by what we saw.
