Moister than an Oyster on a Virgin Voyage

We have only been back in Vero Beach for 27 days and now we are off on a short adventure. Virgin Voyages Western Caribbean Charm onboard Scarlet Lady. We sailed with our friends, Alex and Heather, who really made the cruise fun! Thanks for letting us crash your cruise!!

Accordingvto Wikipedia "Scarlet Lady has a total of 1,408 passenger cabins and 813 crew cabins for a maximum capacity of 4,400 passengers and crew, which can accommodate over 2,770 passengers and 1,160 crew. Of the 1,408 passenger cabins, there are 78 suites, 1,030 balcony cabins, 95 window cabins, and 105 inside cabins."

Bingo With The Diva

There were rules to play Bingo and Rule 3 & 4 were our favorites 😍. 3) When you are one number away stand up and yell, "Diva I'm close!" 4) When you have Bingo yell, "YAAASSSS BINGO" and sashshay to the stage. Unfortunately we did not sashsay to the stage.

Our Diva

Drink Packages do not exist. They have a Bar Tab. Bar Tab is drink credits purchased and added to your 'Sailor account'. Upon arrival at the terminal, you’ll receive The Band. A wristlet connected to your Sailor account. You swipe your band when paying for drinks using your drink credits.

Your bar tab could range from $200 to $1000. We chose the $1000 (imagine that!?!) and received an additional $250 credit. So we had $1250 to spend.

Some things to consider with your bar tab:

1) You can use Bar Tab to purchase drinks for yourself and others.

2) Not everyone in the cabin has to have a bar tab.

3) No rules or restrictions.

4) Any unspent drink credit CANNOT be cashed out or transferred into onboard credit.

Believe it or not, we had a hard time spending the entire tab.

Onboard Venues - we did not visit or partake in every venue

Aquatic Club - Poolside Oasis

We did get rain 🌧

Extra Virgin - Casual Elevated Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar,we did enjoy dinner here but no pictures to prove it.

Gunbae - Korean Barbecue where every meal begins with a Korean drinking game that includes a complimentary shot of soju. This restaurant is a shared table (6) and your food is prepared in front of you.

Chicken
Shrimp

Bacon
Steak

The food was good but not my favorite restaurant.

Gym & Tonic Bar - Open deck oasis overlooking the Well Being Pool

Lick Me Till Ice Cream 🍦🍨 - Scoop Shop

No ice cream for us but apparently they have six ship made flavors to choose from.

Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle - Chinese Inspired Restaurant

This was our favorite restaurant and enjoyed bottomless brunch multiple times.  Definitely book in advance. Order the bacon and the apple cruffin, worth every calorie.

Apple Cruffin

Avocado Toast
Stir Fried Rice Noodles

Sunny Side Hash

Honey Sriracha Sticky Ribs

Chicken Wonton Soup

Slow Cooked Lamb Shank

Pink Agave - Upscale Mexican Restaurant serving tapa style dishes.

Tamal de Chocolate

Richards Rooftop - an exclusive retreat aboard Virgin Voyages, reserved for Rockstar guests staying in suite-level accommodations. Positioned at the ship’s bow, this private outdoor lounge offers comfort, luxury, and breathtaking ocean views, complemented by the Richard’s Rooftop Bar. We were not Rock Stars!

Sip -  Champagne 🍾  Lounge

Started the cruise with a round
of Aperol Spritz's

The Cabanas - On our last day we took advantage of renting a cabana. The Cabana had a sofa, 2 chairs and a day bed. We had our own Cabana Girl who took our food and drink orders and made sure we were happy. Both couples had 'money to burn' on our bar tabs so champagne it was!! Remember... you can't take it with you. I highly suggest renting your own cabana.

The Dock House - A casual bar which was our favorite.  It was never crowded.

Upside down pineapple
Matched our door 🚪

The Galley - A modern Food Hall instead of a buffet. The Galley features 12 unique stations that are all open for breakfast and lunch, with varying dinner hours. You can order with a server, at a station or grab & go.

Ham & Egg

The Red Room - Live Performance Space

Dance Party

The Social Club
is a versatile spot for entertainment and casual dining with a carnival theme.

The Test Kitchen - Cooking Lab/Restaurant & Experimental Bar

We did not try this restaurant, "Inspired by Escoffier's Ma Cuisine, its evolving, chef-driven tasting menus are presented as an ingredient list — but the cooking techniques, presentation, and flavors are explored in ways you've never seen. With innovative and experiential classes like Mixology and coffee labs, you’ll try different methods and components for unique results."

The Wake - Glamorous Steak  & Seafood Restaurant & Martini Bar

Egg in a Hole

Eggs Benedict

Razor Clam Chowder

Wedge

Filet

Hmmm!

Time to deploy!

Trifecta Tour of Roatán - Explore Roatán on an expedition with three stops around the island. First, a Garifuna dance show followed by a traditional dory boat through the mangrove tunnels and finally, a mountain-top overlook.

Load up the bus

Back of the bus 🚌!

Our Tour Guide

It was a packed bus so glad we had the back seat.

Seats were not made
 for Americans.

Shopping Time

After the dance we had the opportunity to listen to a Garifuna talk about the history and try a traditional dish. Also, have a beer!

We drove past their police department.

Rob was brave and got off the bus at the top of Santos Guardiola to snap some photos.

It was a struggle to get back on

Next stop our Dory boat ride

This was the best part of the excursion.

Cozumel, Mexico 🇲🇽

Atlantis Submarine Expedition - Where you explore the depths — 100ft — of the ocean and its abundance of wildlife all from the comfort (and A/C) of a submarine. The cost was $100 each person.

The adventure begins with a boat to the submarine sight.

Safety First

We then load into the Submarine and take a dive.

There are fish out there

WOW 110 ft down

Back to our awaiting boat

Video

Even though we didn't see as many fish as I thought we would it was still an interesting excursion.
